Uncontrolled diabetes can be especially harmful, as it not only increases your risk of gum disease, but it also can make the healing process take longer if you have fluctuating blood glucose levels. Furthermore, if you have cancer, a blood clotting disorder, or severe immune system problems, you may not qualify for this procedure. Still, none of these conditions automatically disqualify you.
